Several exciting races took place May 17th at Bushnell Motorsports Park for their Championship Kart Series Race day.
The race day structure consists of a 10-minute practice session, a 5-minute qualifying round, a 10-lap heat race and then a 14-lap final feature race for each classes running the Outer-Loop layout at Bushnell Motorsports Park. The classes are: Kid Kart 206, 206 Junior, 206 Senior Light, 206 Senior Heavy, 206 Masters, and 206 Legends classes.
Here’s a breakdown of the May 17 Championship Kart Series race results by category:
Kid Kart Class; ages 5-8, weighted to 200 pounds
Cole Chance, driving Kart #8 from Inverness, FL, secured first place with a best lap time of 49.836 seconds — the fastest in the class. Lane Craig, in Kart #10 from Pinellas Park, FL, finished second with a time of 52.075, followed by Harrison White in Kart #27 from Ocala, FL, in third place, posting a best lap of 59.873. The conclusion of this race will bring up the go kart drivers total points for 2025 Championship Kart Series, with Lane Craig currently in the lead at 144 points and Harrison White taking second place at 142 points, while Cole Chance settles in third at 100 points.
206 Junior Class; ages 12-15, weighted to 320 pounds
Lleyton Vogeley of Palm Harbor, driving Kart #22, claimed the top spot with a best lap time of 43.220, the fastest in the race. Ryder Thompson from Jacksonville, FL, piloting Kart #904, followed closely with a time of 43.463 to take second. Third place went to Thiago Fernandes in Kart #12 from Wesley Chapel, with a lap time of 44.221. This now puts Lleyton Vogeley in 3rd for the 2025 Championship Kart Series with 150 points, Thiago Fernandes in 6th with 127 points, and Ryder Thompson in 7th with 92 total points.
206 Senior Light Class; ages 15+, weighted to 340 pounds
Adriano Yannuzzi from Clearwater, FL, took first place in Kart #41 with a lap time of 42.572. However, the fastest lap in the class came from second-place finisher Ethan Hogan of Bushnell, FL, who posted a best time of 42.553 in Kart #71. Ryan Croker, Kart #20 from Lakeland, FL, rounded out the podium in third with a 42.690 lap. This leaves Adriano Yannuzzi in 1st place at a total of 200 series points, while Ethan Hogan settles into 2nd at 181 points and Ryan Croker takes 3rd at 179 points.
206 Senior Heavy Class; ages 15+, weighted to 390 pounds
Yannuzzi also led the 206 Senior Heavy class, again driving Kart #41 to a first-place finish with a lap time of 44.036. Brad Davis of Saint Petersburg, in Kart #18, finished second with a faster time of 43.986 — the best in this class. Mariano Barrios from Winter Garden, in Kart #17, came third with a 44.045 lap. The conclusion of this race will also uphold Adriano Yannuzzi’s spot at the podium with a total of 197 points, with Brad Davis in 3rd at 182 points and Mariano Barrios at 4th with a total of 171 2025 Championship Kart Series points.
206 Masters Class; ages 35+, weighted to 390 pounds
Brad Davis returned to the top of the podium in the Masters division with Kart #18, clocking a 43.726 lap. TJ Scott from Port St. Lucie, driving Kart #27, finished second and recorded the best lap of the race at 43.676. Josh Olson of Alachua, FL, placed third in Kart #2 with a 43.800. In terms of the 2025 series, this will uphold Brad Davis’ 1st place title at 195 points, while Josh Olson rests in 2nd at 182 points and TJ Scott in 3rd at 177 points.
206 Legends Class; ages 50+, weighted to 375 pounds
Terry Downs from Saint Petersburg, in Kart #222, claimed first place and logged the fastest lap in the Legends class with a time of 44.024. William Heck, Kart #12 from Dade City, FL, secured second with a 44.121. Third went to Titus Scott of Dunnellon, FL, in Kart #2, with a lap of 44.411. This will leave Terry Downs in 5th at 150 points, Titus Scott in 7th at 130 points, and William Heck in 8th at 129 total series points.
